Education and Practice Development Support Worker

The Professional Practice Team is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team in supporting the future workforce at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. You will be responsible for providing education in classroom settings and in clinical practice to support in the training and development of our unregistered workforce.

You will play a key part in supporting the delivery of the Care Certificate programme, the upskilling of new and existing Band 3 staff, supporting staff pastorally, supporting opportunities for career development and progression of our healthcare support worker workforce and having an overview of the recruitment process of clinical support workers.

The Education & Practice Development Support Worker will support the development of healthcare support workers and other learners to deliver high quality, caring and compassionate person-centred care under the direction and supervision of the Professional Practice Team working independently and working as part of the multi-disciplinary team.

This opportunity will allow individuals to consolidate their clinical skills and develop leadership skills to support in their own career development and is open to current all staff who are able to evidence the essential qualification criteria.

Main duties of the job

To work as part of the Professional Practice Team to deliver training and education and support the development of the unregistered healthcare support worker (HCSW) workforce across the organisation and to provide pastoral support for bands 2-3 healthcare support workers and other learners in clinical practice

The roles are part of the Professional Practice/Education Team and will support the roll out of evidence based education and development across the Trust. The team is multi-professional and is based on the Wigan site although we cover all sites across WWL

The role will require you to work across all areas in the Trust which includes those that are designated as positive, asymptomatic and negative COVID wards.
