Job summary
The post holder will act as a role model to all team members in the delivery of a high standard of evidenced based nursing or midwifery care. They will utilise effective management and leadership skills in the operational management of ward/area/department. They will be responsible for themanagement of all staff in the area from the selection and recruitment of staff to managing their personal and professional development. They will act as a role model and mentor to staff and students in establishing a positive learning environment where staff can develop to their full potential and work in conjunction with the Head Nursing/Midwifery/Senior AHP Lead and matron to implement the recommendations of the strategy for nurses, midwives and AHPs.
The role is for 37.5 hours per week 5 days per week predominately Monday to Friday .
The role may require you to work across all areas in the Trust which may include those that are designated as positive, asymptomatic and negative COVID wards.

Main duties of the job
To be responsible for a designated area of work, as agreed with the team leader, and to plan and organise efficiently and effectively with regard to patients management and use of time.
To maintain own clinical professional development (CPD) by keeping abreast of any new trends and developments, and incorporate them as necessary into your work.
To decide priorities for own work area, balancing other patient related and professional demands, and ensure that they remain in accordance with those of the section as a whole.
