We are looking for a talented individual to join our newly established Data Science Team at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. You will be a Data Champion - advocating the importance of leveraging data in order to deliver the highest quality of care for our patients.One of your main responsibilities will be the delivery of scalable production ready data solutions. This could vary from the application of Machine Learning models in order to support clinical decision making, to building advanced risk stratification frameworks in order to evaluate our population health.You will work alongside a large team of SQL developers, Qlik Sense developers and Data Analysts. You will have the skills to communicate effectively with the members of these Teams and will enlighten them on the capabilities of Data Science.Ideally, you will have the following skills/experience:- A STEM degree, or hold the equivalent relevant practical experience;- Knowledge of relevant Data Science topics such as Machine Learning, Statistics and Mathematical Modelling;- Experience at coding with a language such as R/Python and SQL;- Excellent communication and problem solving skills.Working for the NHS, this is an exciting opportunity to help mould a new Data Science Team and be involved in all aspects of Healthcare Data Science.
