We are recruiting to a 12-month fixed-term, full-time Senior Peer Support Worker post (37.5 hours per week).

Personal lived experience of a recovery journey from psychosis and personally utilised mental health services.
Previous experience as a Peer Support Worker, ideally within health and/or social care.
Is passionate about supporting individuals to achieve their full potential and maximise their quality of life
The serviceprovides specialist assessment, formulation, treatment and support to people with complex psychosis in their local communities to stabilise people's symptoms and help them gain/regain their skills and confidence to live successfully in the community - adopting a team approach to care delivery.
The peer support worker role is a valued member of the Rehab multi-disciplinary team, using lived experience to work alongside service users, in line with the CHIME Model of Recovery, on a one-to-one and group basis to explore people's own goals and personalised recovery in the Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin area.
A valid UK driving license plus the use of your own car for business purposes is essential due to the large rural nature of our catchment area.
This post is being advertised as a 12-month fixed term position. However, secondment opportunities would be considered for internal MPFT employees upon prior agreement of your current operational lead.
Main duties of the job
- Working directly with an identified caseload of individuals and their carers to provide peer support to inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible
- Working as a member of the Community Mental Health Rehabilitation Service, in close liaison and under direct supervision from members of the multi-disciplinary team
- This role will involve working closely with other healthcare professionals, agencies, carers, service users, families, the local community and other community MH services, ensuring continuity of service.
- Draw upon lived experience to bring hope, offer control (as early as safe) and opportunity to those using services and encourage, challenge and inspire a recovery focus amongst team colleagues
- To co-design and co-deliver recovery orientated, therapeutic groups and activities as equal partners in the development and delivery of activities
