Job summary

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated HCPC Registered Physiotherapist to join our well-established, innovative and friendly Musculoskeletal (MSK) Outpatient Team based in Cannock. If you are at the point of your career where you want to establish more specialist skills in MSK, or are newly qualified and know you want to specialise in MSK then this is the role for you.

We are looking for:

  • Relevant experience/placements to the role including assessment and management of MSK conditions.
  • Ability to assess and manage a variety of MSK conditions.
  • Ability to support patients with rehabilitation and self-management/ strategies.
  • Ability to manage time and caseload effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Main duties of the job

As a Physiotherapist you will be expected to

Assess new service user referrals and care/support needs. Assesses service users and formulates, develops, implements and evaluates programmes of treatment /care/support for individuals, families and carers. The treatment/care/support plansmayinclude the following:

o Promoting independence/self-management and maintaining safety]

o Increased functional ability

o Improvement in health and wellbeing including mental health

o Interventions in disease/condition management

o Prevention and reducing of health inequalities

o Admission avoidance

o Early supported discharge

o Case management/ treatment/ care plans

o Palliative and end of life care

  • Work with individuals and carers who may find it difficult to engage with the service or aspects of the service resulting in uncooperative or challenging behaviour that has to be managed.
  • Provide advice education and training to service users, carers and professionals regarding the management and care/support of service users.
  • Set workload priorities for self, and oversee the workload of more junior team members and students as required.
