This includes the development of clinical skills, supervision of others, leadership and service development in line with the needs of the Telford & Wrekin area. We work from a range of therapeutic models such as, DBT, MBT, CFT, CBT, ISTDP, ACT and CAT.

We have a fantastic psychologically minded and compassionate collective leadership team in Telford and Wrekin CMHS, and a supportive Psychology presence within the Shropshire Telford and Wrekin Care Group, regular psychology meetings to keep everyone informed of developments as well as excellent training.

Doctorate in clinical or counselling psychologists that are in final year of placement are also welcome to apply for this post.

Main duties of the job

We have a range of incentives we can offer including a generous relocation package of up to £8,000. Alternatively, a welcome bonus of 10% of first year salary- at 50% on commencement of employment and 50% following 12 months employment.

  • To support the development of specialist assessments and short-term interventions at the 'front door' of the service, working closely alongside the assessment team to strengthen early engagement and care pathways. This will be a key service development project with significant scope for innovation and impact.
  • To provide specialist psychology assessment, one to one and group interventions to clients experiencing severe and enduring mental health issues that meet Trust and Directorate objectives, national strategic and policy guidelines, commissioner requirements, and user and carer needs and expectations.
  • To support the development and implementation of systemic interventions. This includes reflective practice groups with the team, psychology consultations, teaching and training, and systemic interventions.
  • To utilise opportunities for reflection and the continuing development of your own skills.
  • To work within professional guidelines and the overall framework of MPFT's policies and procedures.
  • The post holder will be responsible for adhering to relevant Trust policies and professional ethics.
  • To employ research skills for audit, policy and service evaluation and development and research
