If it is identified that you require sponsorship to undertake this role your application may be withdrawn The Business Intelligence Support Analyst provides essential first-line support to the Trust's analytics, reporting and business intelligence activities. As a key contact point for reporting queries, system access, ticket triage and routine data quality tasks, the postholder helps ensure consistent, timely and accurate delivery of intelligence services across MPFT.In line with the department objectives, the role supports a more streamlined, standardised and digitally-enabled reporting function through structured triage processes, better utilisation monitoring, improved data governance, and ensuring that automated and self-service reporting platforms (e.g. Power BI) are used effectively by staff across the organisation.

Main duties of the job

  • Act as the first-line response for Business Intelligence (BI) queries, ensuring timely triage, clear communication and appropriate escalation.
  • Maintain and update request tickets, progress logs and stakeholder communications.
  • Support the production and refresh of routine automated Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Assist with data extraction and validation for Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.
  • Maintain and monitor report usage statistics, identifying redundant or low-value reporting for rationalisation in support of the MOC objective to reduce duplication.
  • Manage role-based access to reporting systems, ensuring appropriate permissions based on starters, leavers and role changes.
  • Perform initial quality assurance and testing of new dashboards before end-user release.
  • Maintain BI knowledgebase articles, guides and procedural documentation to support standardised working.
  • Provide basic analysis and validation checks to support data quality improvement across BI outputs.
