We are looking to recruit an experienced Occupational Therapist to provide OT Leadership across the East Staffs IMHTs and ILS. This position will be to cover maternity leave until November 2026. This post is being advertised as a fixed term position or as a secondment opportunity. We have the availability to offer up to three days at a Band 7.

You may be someone in a part time position that would be interested in increasing your hours in this temporary post or someone that could be released from their current post for a secondment opportunity. If you are interested in this post as a secondment from your current role, you would need agreement from your line manager and we would ask that you have a conversation with them before applying to ensure that you can be released.

Main duties of the job

  • Working clinically as an advanced OT with the flexibility of working across bases, dependent on skills, service need and agreed collaborative working arrangements.
  • Delivering a high quality clinical service to patients and their families.
  • Providing leadership as an Occupational Therapy specialist within the community mental health pathways of Integrated Mental Health Teams of East Staffordshire and the Intensive Life Skills (ILS) pathway. The post holder would be expected to provide leadership, advice and guidance to OT colleagues and other team members from across different professional groups.
  • Managing a complex caseload and responsible for clinical and caseload supervision of other team members.
  • The post holder will be responsible for providing the specialist Occupational Therapy process.
  • Delivering specialist Occupational Therapy interventions, in accordance with an agreed care plan, to an identified group of people experiencing mental health related difficulties.
  • Delivering individual and group-based interventions in line with the transformation and evidence base relevant to the client group.
