Job summary

The CYP Eating Disorders Intensive Support at Home (ED-ISH) is currently mobilising. This specialist provision delivers intensive, evidence-based care to children & young people experiencing moderate to severe eating disorders. The service model is designed to deliver intensive, flexible & person-centred care for children & young people (CYP) with eating disorders, embedded within the existing CAMHS Eating Disorders Service (CEDS) infrastructure.

  • Intensive Home treatment-providing targeted support within the home environment
  • Meal support and psychoeducationfor young people & their families, promoting sustainable recovery at home.
  • Multidisciplinary care planning and supervision, ensuring continuity & quality of care across settings.
  • Training and consultation to professionals and carers, enhancing system-wide understanding and support for eating disorders.

Main duties of the job

To support the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based therapeutic interventions for children and young people (CYP) with eating disorders within the CAMHS Day Hospital setting. The postholder will work under the supervision of registered Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) to facilitate group and individual interventions, contribute to care planning, support meal-time management, and assist with assessment, therapeutic activities, and monitoring of physical and mental health needs.

The role aims to promote recovery, independence, engagement in meaningful activity, and the development of healthy routines for CYP and their families/carers.

  • Foundation degree in relevant subject or Diploma/NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or accredited prior learning with competency based evidence supplemented by short courses

Experience

  • Experience of working with children with Mental Health Needs as a member of a multidisciplinary community team.
  • Experience of formulating a child's difficulties and supporting the development of a care plan.
  • Experience of employing evidenced based interventions with children
  • Experience of working with families
  • Able to work independently under delegation, without direct supervision.
