Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust has an opportunity to join our Crisis Resolution/ Home Crisis Treatment team in Southwest Staffordshire based at Haywood Lodge, Stafford as a Community Mental Health Nurse.

We work with people who are experiencing a mental health crisis, who require extra support alongside their regular support network or who can have the same treatment provided at home that they would receive in a Mental Health Hospital.

As an integral team in the Urgent Care Pathway, we work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and team members are required to work rostered shifts including weekends and nights. Due to the nature of the role, you must have access to suitable transport to cover the geographical area during your shifts.

Main duties of the job

Band 5 practitioners have a crucial role in delivering safe and effective home treatment for an identified client group and in accordance with that person's wellbeing and recovery action plan

You will participate in the delivery of the agreed aims and objectives of the service and identify factors which may inhibit these from being achieved. You will assist in the delivery of a high standard of nursing care to service users referred to the team. You will implement agreed systems for the monitoring of effectiveness of care. You will participate in the education and management of junior staff.

  • A qualified and registered mental health practitioner ie Nursing (RMN), Occupational Therapy, or Social Work
  • Conforms to NMC requirements & active on NMC register (or relevant professional register)

Experience

  • Have knowledge of current initiatives impacting on the service
  • Have knowledge of a range of mental health problems

Desirable

  • Experience of working with people experiencing mental health related difficulties.
  • Have post-registration experience
