Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) is offering an exciting development opportunity to join our team as a Band 2 Healthcare Support Worker and to complete a Development Programme. Upon completion of the programme, you will progress to a Band 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker.

Older Adults Mental Health Bromley Ward is an assessment ward covering South Staffordshire. We provide care for individuals over 65 years presenting with a functional mental health conditions or early stages of dementia.

We are looking for caring, compassionate individual to work within our older adult inpatient team who are committed to providing high quality care and treatment to our patients. Working in an older adult environment can be challenging, but with the right team, positive attitude, and resilience we are rising to the challenge and reaping the reward of being able to support people during their most challenging times.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide support and spend therapeutic time with an allocated group of service users with mental health needs.
  • To support service users to maximise their quality of life and provide a positive patient experience through the delivery of high quality, outcome measured care and evidence-based interventions.
  • To assist Registered Professionals in the implementation and evaluation of individualised care plans
  • Regularly report and effectively communicate service users' health status and care aims in care records and verbal reports to Registered Professional Staff members and other members of the multi-disciplinary team, including while supporting section 136 assessments and ECT treatment

  • Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care OR NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care with demonstrable evidence of numeracy and literacy skills (equivalent GCSE's or Functional Skills)
