Job summary
The East Staffordshire Musculoskeletal Team are offering an exciting opportunity for an HCPC Registered Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner to join our friendly and innovative team.
Due to the increased demand of the orthopaedic pathway across East Staffordshire, we are pleased to offer a number of opportunities for senior clinicians to join our team to provide advanced skills and work with patients with musculoskeletal pain.
You will play a leading role in our MSK team with support from the service Clinical and Operational Leads. You will have a clear desire to expand your knowledge & skills with a capacity for autonomous clinical decision-making and problem solving andby becoming part of our team you will be well supported and empowered to deliver services consistent with our Trust values.
If you are able to manage a varied caseload of complex Musculoskeletal patients, committed to CPD and have the desire to develop yourself and the service, with a keen eye on improving patient care, then we would be keen to hear from you.
You will be required to efficiently and independently travel over a large geographical area to cover the needs of the service.
Main duties of the job
- The ability to undertake comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of complex patients with a wide variety of physical & emotional needs.
- Having experience of initial differential diagnosis of a variety of MSK and spinal conditions and knowledge of referral thresholds.
- The ability to undertake investigations incl. MRI, NCS, bloods etc.
- Supporting with the delivery of structured interdisciplinary education for the team, including day to day clinical support for physiotherapists and other health care professionals. (Internal and external to the NIMS service).
- To work closely with uni/multi- disciplinary teams/agencies. The post holder may be involved in addressing a range of care/support issues across the spectrum of MSK and pain conditions, preventing unnecessary hospital admissions and improving the health and wellbeing of the population served.
- Supporting with development and delivery of local and Trust wide projects.
- To work in collaboration with the operational and clinical leadership team to develop clinical pathways and strengthen links with our external partners and stakeholders.
- The ability to undertake joint injections as necessary - training will be provided.
