Job summary
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Band 4 Senior Mental Health Care Support Worker to work with individuals with complex emotional needs based in clinic or community venues within the Tamworth area, based at Cherry Orchard, Hospital Street, Tamworth.
You would be working within the Integrated Mental Health Team (IMHT) and the Intensive Life Skills (ILS) Pathway to provide the delivery of interventions for adults 17+ experiencing complex emotional difficulties as part of the Adult Mental Health Service. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide evidence-based interventions.
You will be working within highly psychologically minded, enthusiastic, dedicated and supportive teams to support service-users who present with high levels of emotional distress and often have histories of complex trauma, neurodiversity and/or adverse experiences.
You will need to travel independently over a large geographical area and will require suitable transport.
Main duties of the job
As a Community Mental Health, Health Care Support Worker you will work with adults / older adults and, where appropriate and necessary their families or carers, to provide ongoing support, therapeutic interventions when agreed, practical assistance and problem resolution under the supervision of a senior team member.
The role will involve:

The delivery of interventions on an individual and group basis with service users who have difficulty regulating their emotions and utilise self-harm to manage high levels of distress. The interventions will be focussed on assisting the person to identify and achieve their agreed goals, utilising a Structured Clinical Management model focusing on problem solving, managing emotions, getting along with others and managing impulsivity
- To Support in, and provide, an early response for those in crisis as part of an overall recovery plan
