An opportunity has become available in the Moorlands Rural Adult Social Care Team for a Practice Lead. We need a resilient and dynamic individual to join the experienced and enthusiastic team here in the Moorlands. This position is specifically to support the Adult Social Care Community Team within the Moorlands and to take responsibility of the review workstream.

Main duties of the job

You will be working closely with the leadership team and will be supported to develop a skill set which will include the management of performance, budgets and team members. You will be expected to be an experienced practitioner with in-depth knowledge of safeguarding and complex case management.

The work is varied and challenging and there is strong ethos of adaptability and innovation in the teams. There is an emphasis on professional development and promotion of excellent practice, and this is an ideal opportunity for career progression within an integrated organisation offering great progression pathways and training opportunities. There is a comprehensive Learning and development programme offering the opportunity to develop specialisms such as Practice Educator, Consultant Social Worker and AMHP. There is access to additional training opportunities and the potential to move to more senior roles as your career progresses.

You will professionally supervise and manage front line social work and social care practitioners. In addition, the role is key to providing guidance and support of staff and promotion of good practice, staff wellbeing and development.

Reporting to the Operational Service Delivery Lead, you will be accountable to the Strategic Service Delivery Lead and hold professionally accountable to the Principal Social Worker.

  • Qualified and Registered Social Work Practitioner
  • Masters level qualification or equivalent experience in relevant professional or managerial role.(e.g. Stage 2 AMHP
  • Qualification, Social Work Post Qualifying Award)
  • Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) or Best Interest Assessor (BiA) status OR willing to work towards within a defined timescale
  • Evidence of ongoing continued professional development.

Desirable

  • Postgraduate qualification in management and/or leadership.
  • Leadership or other organisational development training.

Experience
