We are looking for a B5 HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist to join our specialist Mental Health & Autism team within our dynamic and friendly Stafford Integrated Mental Health Team, based at St Georges Hospital.

We will consider Internal MPFTOccupational Therapy Apprentices that are in their final year of studies.

You will support people with MH conditions who also have ADHD, Autism or have Neurodivergent traits.

You will be able to demonstrate drive and motivation in providing recovery based Occupational Therapy interventions whilst processing the skills, knowledge and passion to be working with MH service users and autistic people, contributing to delivery of a package of care to promote recovery.

You will join a developing and innovative service that aims to provide the right care and treatment at the right time, to individuals within each area. You will be part of an established multi-disciplinary team that has a strong emphasis on delivering evidence based psychological interventions to meet the needs of individuals with secondary mental health needs in our neighbourhood.

The usual hours of work are Monday to Friday between 9am-5pm. The role requires you to travel over a large geographical are, so you will require access to a suitable transport for work purposes.

Main duties of the job

This role will give you a fantastic opportunity to utilise your skills as an Occupational Therapist to the benefit of both service users and the service as a whole.

  • Take responsibility for the management of a complex caseload, which includes specialist assessment (within service specification), care planning in conjunction with service user and carer, evaluation of individual treatment plans (Care Programme Approach and Single Assessment Process).
  • Responsible for participating in the setting of quality standards, including the auditing, monitoring and reviewing of practice in line with current clinical guidance practice and policy.
  • Assess patient's individual care needs, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care.
  • Deliver a range of non-pharmacological interventions following specific occupational therapy assessments to enable understanding of any expression of an unmet need and to maximise an individual's abilities.
  • Provide support and supervision to an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
