IPS Employment Team Supervisor - South Staffordshire

The closing date is 24 November 2025

Job summary

Are you an experienced Employment Specialist or Team Leader looking to take the next step in your career? Do you have a passion for supporting others to deliver high-quality vocational recovery outcomes?

Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) has an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 IPS Supervisor to join our Step On IPS Service, supporting people with mental health needs to gain and sustain paid employment.

As an IPS Supervisor, you will provide day-to-day supervision, guidance and performance management to a team of Employment Specialists, ensuring the IPS model is delivered to a high fidelity standard across your area. You will lead by example, supporting your team to achieve individual and service-level targets while maintaining strong partnerships with clinical teams and external stakeholders.

You will monitor quality, data, and performance outcomes to drive continuous improvement and maintain compliance with the Centre for Mental Health IPS Fidelity Scale. This role combines operational oversight with hands-on support, occasionally holding a small caseload to stay connected to practice.

You will either hold a recognised IPS qualification or be willing to complete the IPS Supervisor Diploma.

Main duties of the job

As an IPS Supervisor, you will play a key leadership role in the delivery and development of the Step On IPS service.

Key responsibilities include:

    • Supervision and Leadership: Provide regular one-to-one supervision, coaching, and support to Employment Specialists, ensuring best practice and adherence to the IPS model.
    • Performance Monitoring: Review team performance data and KPIs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing actions to enhance outcomes.
    • Fidelity and Quality Assurance: Conduct internal fidelity reviews, support fidelity action plans, and champion continuous service development.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong working relationships with Community Mental Health Teams, employers, and partner agencies to promote IPS principles and collaborative working.
    • Data and Reporting: Ensure accurate data entry, reporting, and analysis in line with MHSDS and IPS Grow requirements, contributing to Trust dashboards and regional reporting.
    • Service Delivery: Hold a small caseload where required, demonstrating model fidelity and supporting complex cases to positive employment outcomes.
    • Training and Development: Deliver training and reflective practice sessions to enhance team capability and maintain professional standards.
