Job summary

The Mental Health Liaison Team at Princess Royal Hospital, Telford are offering an internal secondment opportunity for a Band 7 Quality Lead for one day per week. We are a hardworking, multi skilled team who provide assessment and care to people who are in Princess Royal Hospital and experiencing an acute mental health crisis .

The role of Clinical/Quality lead is to work closely with the Operational lead to ensure the best quality of care is delivered 24hrs a day, 7 days a week. The team is based in Princess Royal Hospital we already have strong relationships with Police, EDT , The Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team and 3rd sector partners. We would expect the successful applicant to be able to support the team to deliver high quality care through supervision, role modelling, clinical reviews and feedback from audits. You will have excellent leadership and organisational skills with the ability to inform and drive the quality of care forwards.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide a 1 hour response to the A+E department when referrals are made for people who have attended and require mental health support and assessment.

    To provide a 24 hr response to the wards in the hospital for people who have been admitted and need support and assessment of their mental health.

    To support colleagues within the general hospital in their education and learning about mental health presentations and the role of the Liaison Mental Health Team.

  • To undertake expert assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for a specific group of service users.
  • To supervise and teach service users and carers, professionals from the multi-disciplinary teams, qualified and unqualified staff and the general public
  • To work in partnership with service users, carers and other agencies to ensure effectiveness of outcomes.
