Main duties of the job

Working in a skilled and motivated adult community mental health team that values a range of interventions and support to help people in their recovery journey.

Delivering a high-quality service to service users and their families as part of a collaborative and supportive team.

Key-working of an identified caseload with access to regular and robust supervision.

Delivering assessment, formulation and psychologically informed interventions, in accordance with an agreed care plan, to service users experiencing a wide range of mental health difficulties. Interventions are individual and group.

You will be responsible for the assessment of care needs, including risk, and contributing to; the formulation of the person's needs and the development of a relevant plan based upon the person's negotiated goals and relevant evidence-based interventions. You will, in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team, provide interventions to support the person to meet their agreed goals and coordinate and/ or participate in the review of progress towards those goals, utilising recommended outcome measures, involving the service user and any identified carer throughout the clinical pathway.

Essential

  • Honours Degree in Psychology - Single or Joint honours (with substantial relevant experience in research or clinical activities if the award received is 2:2 or less).
  • Completion of accredited Clinical Associate in Psychology apprenticeship MSc.
  • Evidence of training/CPD to develop knowledge and theory relevant to work in the specialism.
  • Eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) of the British Psychological Society via qualification recognition or by alternative route.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in a Health sector voluntary sector or undertaking local engagement work.
  • Experience of working with client groups with serious mental health problems.

Desirable

  • Some experience of using psychological test equipment for use in formal testing situations
  • Experience of working in a multi-professional team
