An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team as a HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist.

In joining our team as an Occupational Therapist, you will work in the CAMHS Intensive Support Team.

You will work with multi-disciplinary teams/agencies in addressing a range of care/support issues preventing unnecessary hospital admissions, supporting timely discharges and improving the health and wellbeing of children and young people.

Delivering occupational therapy assessment and interventions in accordance with an agreed care plan, to an identified group of young people experiencing mental health related difficulties

All newly qualified clinical staff are required to complete their preceptorship during the first 12 months of employment.

As part of this role, you will be required to travel across wide geographical area and have access to a car, with valid driving licence and business insurance.

Main duties of the job

  • Be competent & proficient in delivering the requirements of the role; working as part of the multi-disciplinary team working with children and young people.
  • Demonstrate at all times the Partnership Trust's Values & Behaviour Framework.
  • Be an Occupational Therapist & have a professional & clinical knowledge in the assessment & management of the needs of children & young people in your care.
  • Be responsible for a defined population of service users.
  • Be skilled in the assessment of the occupational needs of service users & in the development, implementation & evaluation of support/treatment packages.
  • Demonstrate initiative & be creative in finding solutions to problems.
  • Work with the team leader undertaking delegated tasks as required
  • To adhere to and apply the Health and Care Professions Council's (HCPC) standards of proficiency for Occupational Therapists & the standards of conduct, performance & ethics and all other relevant guidance from the HCPC, Royal College of Occupational Therapy (RCOT) & the Partnership Trust. To be professionally accountable & responsible for all aspects of own work.
  • To establish and maintain effective working relationships both within the Partnership Trust & with external organisations in order to meet service requirements and support and demonstrate the Trust's equality values.
  • To assess service user's needs and formulate, develop, implement & evaluate programmes of treatment /support for children, young people, families and carers.

  • Psychological intervention Qualification including EMDR, CBT, CBTp, Family Interventions, CAT, DBT Phlebotomy training NVR, Solution focus therapy, Positive Behaviour Support Planning.
