Job summary

BeeU is the CAMHS services in Telford, Shropshire and Wrekin. BeeU is made up of several pathways; a core mental health team, community eating disorder teams, Learning Disabilities, ADHD, Crisis and Home Treatment, Mental Health Support Team and an Autistic Spectrum Condition diagnostic service.

This post sits within the core mental health team which provides support to young people and their families who are experiencing a range of mental health difficulties. This post will also involve supporting non-psychology colleagues in providing psychological informed treatments for young people, providing training and direct and in-direct interventions.

Flexible working across the service is available, based on the interests of the applicant. A split post with another vacancy within BeeU will also be considered.

This post is an 8a post, however, a band 7 preceptorship will also be considered.

The applicant will be a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist (or equivalent) and registered with the HCPC.

The main duties of the role will be to:

  • Provide direct interventions to young people and their families
  • To provide initial or specialist assessments for young people
  • To provide indirect interventions with young people, which will include systemic working with families, schools, local authorities and other agencies.
  • To develop and share formulations.
  • To adapt interventions based upon the needs of the young person
  • To provide specialist psychological advice.
