Assistant Psychologist B4 post working in Primary Care Psychology in Shropshire
We are recruiting to posts in our Primary Care Psychology Service in Shropshire: South Shropshire.
The Primary Care Service mainly provides a Group Programme, but also assessment and formulation with some individual intervention for people with serious mental health problems as part of Mental Health Transformation. You would be working with Clinical Associates in Psychology and Peer Support Workers and will receive weekly supervision from Clinical / Counselling Psychologists.
We have an active Assistant Psychologist's Group, regular Care Group Psychology meetings and a strong focus on development and training.
You will provide support to Trainee Clinical Associates in Psychology and qualified psychologists offering psychological and clinical input into the Primary Care Networks in order to meet the needs of people in primary care with complex psychological needs and provide support to general practice and mental health staff working in primary care.
You will liaise with third sector groups to meet needs of local area.
Main duties of the job
- To support and enhance psychological care by assisting qualified practitioners in the delivery and evaluation of cost-effective services that meet Trust and Directorate objectives, national strategic and policy guidelines, commissioner requirements and user and carer needs and expectations.
- To develop and deliver a group programme for PCN Aligned Psychology
- To support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the service, providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, working independently according to a plan agreed with the Clinical/Counselling Psychologist and within the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures.
- To work with clients and staff of the primary care and secondary care mental health services. To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, and development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.
