Join our dedicated team as a Band 2 Healthcare Support Worker at the Haywood Hospital and Cheadle Hospital.

We are looking for people that can demonstrate previous skills and experience in a Healthcare setting and bring care, compassions and enthusiasm for providing excellent patient care.

The Community Hospitals pride themselves on the delivery of quality care to all inpatients, many with complex needs. Our wards are dementia friendly, and the admission age is 18 years onwards. All wards promote the philosophy of self-care and independence whilst supporting rehabilitation and ongoing assessment.

We are a 24/7 365 service and would require you to work on a shift basis, however; we will consider requests for flexible working in line with the requirements of the service.

You may be required to work between the Haywood and Cheadle Hospitals.

Main duties of the job

As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will work as part of a team and as part of this role you will be expected to:

  • Monitor patients and report any changes that identify the need for review of the patients' care
  • Ensure peoples comfort, safety and dignity whilst also maintaining confidentiality at all times
  • Enable, encourage and/or assist patients (where appropriate) with personal care such as; bathing, showering, toileting, hygiene continence care, skin integrity, meal prep and medication
  • Assist/support or prompt the patient in managing medication
  • Deliver support plans and safeguarding vulnerable people
  • Contribute to outcome focused reviews
  • Encourage people's independence, choice, health and wellbeing
  • Encourage individuals use of equipment and assistive technology
  • Facilitate individuals transition to alternative services and support if needed
  • Engage in organisational learning and development
  • Provide excellence patient care and support
  • Recording Care - complete documentation and feedback
