Job summary

There is an exciting opportunity for individuals who have an interest in working with service users with a variety of mental health needs within a secure setting.

We have a qualified Occupational Therapist post on our Medium Secure unit at The Hatherton Centre, St George's hospital, working with adult males.

Within the role you will work closely with the ward/multi-disciplinary team to bring new ideas to develop the delivery of therapy for service users.

We are looking for a self-motivated and caring individual who will make a positive contribution to the quality of lives of our service users and deliver high quality care.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for the Occupational Therapy assessment of functional needs and contribute to the formulation and development of a relevant plan based upon the person's negotiated goals and relevant evidence-based interventions.

The post holder will carry out all stages of the Occupational Therapy process; assessments, planning, and implementing interventions, evidencing, evaluating and outcome measuring therapy to ensure delivery is high quality.

They will work actively as part of the multi-disciplinary team.

They will be required to work collaboratively and flexibly with both the Occupational Therapy and ward team to meeting the diverse needs of our service users and adapt to the demands of the ward.
