Job summary

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Advanced Dietitian Team Lead to join our Dietetics Team base at the Haywood Hospital in Stoke on Trent, for 22 months on a Fixed-term contract.

You will be part of the Haywood Allied Health Professionals (AHP) portfolio and lead the Haywood Dietetics Service, undertaking a highly specialist senior role in planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating the Dietetic Service.

This is a varied role which will require you to work predominantly in the Haywood hospitalbut with some work across other community hospital sites and settings and nursing homes as service demands require.

You will hold and manage a highly specialist clinical case load within the Haywood and community hospitals settings whilst also working closely with Haywood management team, AHP & dietetic leads and many multidisciplinary teams including Rehabilitation teams, D2A teams, community stroke, Social care Teams, Community Intermediate Care, Respiratory Teams, and Diabetes Teams and agencies to lead & deliver an effective and safe dietetic service across adult inpatient wards at the Haywood and community Hospitals.

Main duties of the job

As Dietitian Team Lead you will be an Advanced Dietitian and have a detailed professional and clinical knowledge. As an advanced clinical practitioner you will have a focus on Nutrition Support, enteral feeding & therapeutic dietetics within stroke and / or rehabilitation medicine.

As part of this role, you will,

  • Be skilled in the assessment of complex/specialist care/support needs and in the development, implementation and evaluation of care/support packages for patients and families
  • Provide quality driven, evidence based dietetic & nutrition support interventions within the Haywood Dietetic service.
  • Have leadership, supervisory and training responsibilities and will have responsibility for team performance and service developments/improvements.
  • Demonstrate initiative and be creative in finding solutions to problems.
  • Work with Haywood service leads and other dietetic & AHP leads undertaking delegated tasks in team management and service provision.
