Main duties of the job
In this role, you'll share relevant personal experiences and utilize insights and skills from your own journey of being a carer to a loved one navigating their way through recovery to support other carers to feel heard and to share their experiences on both a one-to-one and group basis. With the support and guidance of senior lived experience colleagues you will lead on building up a network of carers who would like to share their experiences to elicit change. You will also take responsibility for designated projects and for co-ordinating co-production opportunities, including supporting with training and the production of relevant resources.
It is anticipated this will be a dynamic role with lots of variation and will include tasks such as;
- Developing opportunities to engage and co-produce with carers
- Facilitating and co-facilitating workshops to support co-production.
- Co-facilitating training sessions.
- Attending in-person events to promote our lived experience network and available opportunities.
- Creating communication and marketing materials.
- Providing support and supervision to other members of the lived experience workforce.
Lived Experience of supporting a loved one receiving care from adult mental health services is essential to fulfil the requirements for this role.
