Integrated Out of Hours Senior Staff Nurse

The closing date is 22 September 2025

Job summary

An exciting development opportunity has arisen to work as a Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse within the Integrated Out of Hours Team. This is a permanent role.

The North and South Out of Hours service have recently integrated, providing out of hours community nursing cover across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.

The service operates between the hours of 4pm and 8.15am, with two shifts: evening or nights. It is a great area to work if you are particularly looking for more flexible working.

This opportunity will be of particular interest to experienced nurses with strong leadership skills and potential.

The development will focus around developing the successful candidate into being the best senior nurse that they can be. This will cover areas such as becoming an authentic leader, leading others, advanced clinical skills, resilience, understanding of the wider systems, fostering, and embedding a culture of safe, quality care; plus, much more.

Main duties of the job

The role will centre on organising and leading shifts, implementing, evaluating, triaging, and managing the care for patients with complex needs within the community setting in the North Staffordshire locality. The successful applicant will work with colleagues from the wider leadership team and have an awareness of the wider local and national agenda. You will need to be a proactive, flexible, and dynamic individual with excellent clinical and communicative skills.

Excellent communication and organisational skills are required with the ability to challenge positively. The individual must act as a role model to always embed the Trust values and behaviours.

A proactive focus is key, in which the successful candidate must take responsibility and ownership of their own actions and agreed objectives.
