Job summary
Haywood Hospital houses the long-established specialist rehabilitation service for the North Midlands. The Rehabilitation Medicine department is the recognised regional provider of bed-based and outpatient specialist services for adults with complex disabilities. The inpatient unit, Broadfield Ward provides the specialist inpatient rehabilitation in 21 UKROC accredited level 2a beds.
The post holder will work within a multi-disciplinary team to provide engagement and activities to patients on the ward that support individual's rehabilitation programmes.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide formalised support and practical assistance to service users in order for them to regain control over their lives and their own unique recovery process. promote independence and quality of life and facilitate onward care planning and safe, timely and appropriate discharge. They will engage with service users to promote their recovery and reintegration with the aim of assisting service users to gain and maintain independence in the community and other step-down settings.

Toact as patient / carer advocate supporting patient & carer forums ensuring patient experience is at the forefront of service delivery.
