The MPFT Staff Wellbeing Hub is delighted to share they are recruiting a High Intensity CBT Therapist. The role is working on a fixed-term basis for 8 months.
The position will be based at Severn Fields Health Village, Shrewsbury. There is scope for this post to also be remote / hybrid working
In the role you will be responsible for the clinical provision of specialist psychological therapy, using a High Intensity CBT Therapy approach.
You will working as part of a team of clinicians whose responsibility is to provide psychological services for staff members across MPFT.
Along with other team members you will be responsible, for the delivery of high intensity and complex psychological interventions via the use of a range of therapeutic modalities.
You will be responsible for triage and screening of referrals, assessing and treating patients suitable for High Intensity CBT and managing a waiting list. You will also contribute to routine data collection, audit and evaluation of patient measures as required by the service.
Main duties of the job
To provide specialist assessment and brief intervention for NHS staff using complex psychological data gained from a variety of sources appropriately.
o To ensure the systematic provision of the service provided by the individual and any staff reporting to them, including the responsibility to prioritise work appropriately.
o To undertake formal assessments e.g. of capacity, safeguarding and risk, to take the appropriate steps to manage the situation, and to provide advice to other professionals on the psychological aspects of the assessment and associated management issues.
o To work sensitively with staff members in line with guidelines for confidentiality
o To undertake regular supervision and seek out further support supervision if necessary .
o To plan therapeutic interventions which can be delivered in line with the evidence base and NICE guidelines.
o To contribute to the development of services within the MPFT Staff Wellbeing Hub, reviewing service outcomes, designing and participating in audit, research and clinical governance initiatives, and reporting on the results. This will involve communication with a wide range of clinical and managerial colleagues, within and outside the Trust.
o To support junior staff, as required.
o To provide supervision to trainee clinical psychologists on placement, junior staff, volunteers and other colleagues, including professional and doctoral research supervision, as required.

- Is a CBT or other therapist with training that is at least the equivalent of a postgraduate certificate, postgraduate diploma or Masters' degree with BABCP registration.
- Current registration/accreditation with appropriate body.
- Practitioner qualification in additional recognised and accredited therapeutic modalities / approaches (e.g. EMDR, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)
Desirable
- Supervisor qualification from a substantial supervision course.
- Additional training in specialist areas related to mental health e.g. complex grief, risk management, LTC, Psychosis, Depression.
