Are you a recently or almost qualified Occupational Therapist who would like to work in a community mental health team?
South Shropshire Mental Health Service is looking to recruit a Band 5 Occupational Therapist into a developmental role that following completion of preceptorship would lead to a Band 6 role within the team.
This is a varied role that will allow you to develop the key skills required for working in a busy rural community team whilst offering supervision and preceptorship to allow you to gradually gain confidence and skills.
You will be able to choose either working in our Bridgnorth or Ludlow base although it would be expected that you will support assessments across the South area. The work is varied and will involve individual caseload work, assessments, planning interventions with service users, duty work, supervision of support worker staff
Main duties of the job
- Working in an identified adult community mental health team(South Shropshire)
- Delivering a high-quality clinical service to patients and their families.
- Managing a small caseload and delivering Occupational Therapy (OT) Assessments with access to regular and robust supervision and support.
- Delivering occupational therapy interventions, in accordance with an agreed care plan, to an identified group of people experiencing mental health related difficulties.
- Supporting the team Duty system
- Working as part of a MDT and advocating the role of OT within professional meetings
