We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic Administrator to join the Paediatric Dietetic Service based in Tamworth.

You will be responsible for providing a full administrative service to support the Paediatric Dietitians with the provision of their service to infants and children.

Our Administrator plays a vital role in the delivery of our patient care. The role is varied and challenging and your day to day duties will include, but are not limited to: -

  • Providing comprehensive administrative support to professionals within the team including team lead, dietitians, dietetic assistants and assistant practitioners.
  • Providing full administrative support to the running of clinics i.e. uploading referrals, booking appointments, sending appointment letters, rescheduling cancelled appointments etc. To work with new appointment systems as required e.g. One Consultation.
  • Managing waiting lists and the flow of patients through the clinic systems. Providing confidential and efficient word processing service, including the preparation of letters and reports from a variety of sources.

The post holder will have excellent communication skills, good key board skills and to work unsupervised at times.

Main duties of the job

Working within the service can at times be a stressful environment, by way of telephone calls, visitors, meetings and numerous daily interruptions. The post holder requires the ability to work under pressure, with conflicting demands at times.

  • NVQ 3 in Business Admin, finance, customer care or relevant experience
  • Possesses a good standard of general education
  • Possesses a recognised typing qualification
  • (RSA II typing or equivalent) or can display word processing skills to an equivalent level of competence

Desirable

  • Audio Transcription RSA II
  • ECDL
  • RSA III typing

Experience

Essential

  • Previous secretarial / administrative experience
  • Previous demonstrable administrative experience within a health setting
  • A good understanding of office procedures and an ability to develop admin systems
  • Supports the work of a multi - disciplinary team
  • Dealing with the public

Desirable
