We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 HCPC Registered Podiatrist to join our team based in Cannock, Staffordshire.
This would be a wonderful opportunity for a newly qualified podiatrist to work alongside a team of Podiatrists and Podiatry assistants as well as working closely with district nursing teams, tissue viability nurses, consultant lead multidisciplinary clinics, allied health professionals and local integrated teams.
Youwill be supported to work as an autonomous practitioner assessing; diagnosing; care planning; and reviewing child and adult patients with a multitude of clinical conditions and provide a commitment to exceptional patient care to achieve their full potential.
We offer Oxleas Preceptorship and Beyond Preceptorship development opportunities. Our advanced practitioners in biomechanics,paediatrics, rehabilitation, rheumatology, diabetes & wound care provide expert support and advice and offer mentorship programs to all staff.
You will be encouraged to take part in various CPD activities including clinical support, supportive supervision and in-house training during team meetings.
Due to the nature of this role, you should have the ability to travel around a large geographical area.
Main duties of the job
As a Band 5 HCPC Registered Podiatrist you will assess new service user referrals and care/support needs. Assesses service users and formulates, develops, implements and evaluates programmes of treatment /care/support for individuals, families and carers. The care/support plans may include the following:
- Promoting independence/self management and maintaining safety.
- Increased functional ability
- Improvement in health and wellbeing including mental health.
- Interventions in disease/condition management
- Prevention and reducing of health inequalities.
- Admission avoidance
- Early supported discharge
- Case management/ treatment/ care plans
- Palliative and end of life
As part of this role, you will be expected to:
- Use professional knowledge and judgement to take into account the range of care/support packages and treatment options available. To consider each service user's personal circumstances and preferences to implement and adjust programmes of care and intervention.
- Maintain and develop skills and knowledge to deliver a range of interventions and set an example of good practice to other team members including skill sharing
- Work with individuals and carers who may find it difficult to engage with the service or aspects of the service resulting in uncooperative or challenging behaviour that has to be managed.
- Provide advice to service users, carers and professionals regarding the management and care/support of service users.
