An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our Specialist Forensic Intensive Recovery Support team (FIRST) provide support to ensure the delivery of evidence-based interventions and outcomes as part of this service. Working in partnership with the multidisciplinary team to support communication needs and interventions across the case load.
We are currently looking to recruit a highly skilled and enthusiastic speech and language therapist to join our FIRST team. We are looking for someone with an interest in forensic mental health, experience working with adults with speech, language and communication needs and a commitment to high quality clinical care, who is looking for the next opportunity in their career development.
The post will be working across the case load using a blended approach of face to face and remote working, providing innovative treatment to bring about long-lasting change and recovery for patients.
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, self-motivated and innovative individual with a genuine interest in working in the specialist field of forensic mental health to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the provision of the service.
Main duties of the job
You will be working closely with the multi-disciplinary team (including Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Nursing, Psychology, and medics)
You will be responsible for providing a communication service to the case load of FIRST
You will be responsible for managing a complex caseload and as an advanced speech and language therapist responsible for clinical and caseload supervision, training of other team members and on occasion external partners
You will be responsible for providing specialist Speech and Language Therapy assessment, interventions and advice in the clinical area of communication needs.
You will be part of the AHP team in forensics made up of Speech and language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Physiotherapy.
You will be making a difference to the experience of our service users through supporting their speech, language and communication needs.
