Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) with an interest in Learning Disabilities to join Midlands Foundation Partnership University Foundation Trust (MPFT) as part of the Shropshire Community Learning Disability Team (CLDT). The team is made up of a range of professionals working together to assess and manage individual health needs of people with a learning disability, ensuring person centred and holistic care. You will work as part of a small team of passionate and experienced SLTs.We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join our team in a band 5-6 development post. We welcome applications from SLT graduates and those due to qualify soon. You do not need to have placement or career experience of working with adults with learning disabilities, as we are encouraging SLTs with an interest in this area to apply. You will be supported and trained in-role regarding the Learning Disability-specific elements. You will be supported to complete your (Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists) RCSLT newly qualified competencies. You will then be supported to complete a competency framework developed by the Trust to support your transition to band 6.We also welcome applications from more experienced therapists and applications from SLTs already working at band 6 level.
Main duties of the job

The Oxleas Allied Health Professionals (AHP) Preceptorship Programme has been designed to complement the RCSLT NQP competencies. More information can be found at: https://oxleasahppreceptorship.com/You will receive regular clinical supervision and support from members of the SLT team, and will have opportunities for peer supervision with other band 5s within the Trust. You will be supported to complete continued professional development (CPD) and will be given opportunities to attend internal and external training to develop your skill set. You will have the opportunity to work creatively and support with service development. You will have access to our generous AHP CPD fund.
