Job summary

We currently have a 18 month fixed term job opportunity for a Registered Practitioner with specific knowledge and experience in Eating Disorder services to join the West Midlands Adult Eating Disorder Provider Collaborative

MPFT is the Lead Provider for the West Midlands Adult Eating Disorder Provider Collaborative. This means MPFT is responsible and accountable for commissioning and the overall delivery of Adult Inpatient Eating Disorder Services across the region.

The Clinical Liaison role will work across the West Midlands Adult Eating Disorders Provider Collaborative, the post-holder will work closely with the inpatient teams to offer support, caseload management and supervision to the community services and engage directly with the community teams in order to develop an effective and positive working relationship.

Main duties of the job

The role will also support the Provider Collaborative by:

o Ensuring that all admissions are appropriate in terms of the actual need for an inpatient admission, the urgency of the admission and the length of admission.

o Safe and effective management of those service users with Anorexia Nervosa who are at high risk due to their complex presentation and who are being managed within a community setting.

o Discussing and negotiating reasonable adjustments to outpatient care that can prevent or delay an inpatient admission where appropriate.

o Being aware of the individual needs of those service users who have a Learning Disability and/or Autism alongside a diagnosable co morbid eating disorder and identifying the most appropriate plan of care with the community teams.

o Liaison with acute wards and hospitals to do initial assessments and triage and to liaise with clinicians at the acute hospital liaison with out of area providers to repatriate patients back in to area and reviewing the care plan of the patient.
