Assistant Psychologist - Integrated Mental Health Team

Hours, full-time 37.5 hours - Permanent

Base: Split post between St. Michael's Court, Lichfield (Integrated Mental Health Team, Burntwood & Lichfield) and Cherry Orchard House, Tamworth (Integrated Mental Health Team, Mercian)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Assistant Psychologist to join the Integrated Mental Health Teams in Lichfield and Tamworth. You will join a developing and innovative service that aims to provide the right care and treatment at the right time, to individuals within the East Staffs Neighbourhood. You will become part of an established multi-disciplinary team that has a strong emphasis on delivering evidence based psychological interventions to meet the needs of individuals with secondary mental health needs within our neighbourhood.

Main duties of the job

  • Providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions, individual and group based, under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist.
  • Working independently according to a plan agreed with the Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or CBT trained professional and within the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures.
  • To work collaboratively with all pathway colleagues.
  • To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, and development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.
  • To assist in the facilitation, administration and evaluation of workshops.

The successful candidate will be well supported with supervision from the Registered Psychologists in the Neighbourhood and there will be opportunity for networking with other Assistant Psychologists, Trainee Clinical Psychologists and other mental health professionals.

  • Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
  • Experience of working in an inpatient or community mental health setting
