Job summary

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a HCPC Registered Band 7 Mental Health Occupational Therapy Clinical Lead to join our Integrated Community Team within our Mental Health Services based in Tamworth, Staffordshire. This role is for 30 hours/4 days per week.

We are looking for a Clinical Lead that has a passion for leadership, quality, and Occupational Therapy, and arelooking for a new challenge in developing this Mental Health Clinical Lead role. The role will be split with 2 days clinical OT leadership and 2 days specialist Occupational Therapy and will involve taking responsibility and leading a highly complex and specialist caseload.

You will have demonstrable drive and desire to develop our services in line with best practice and evidence-based interventions.You will have strong leadership skills alongside highly skilled specialist OT and mental health knowledge and expertise.The environment is fast paced and challenging but highly rewarding. Your role will involve working with other internal and external agencies, families, carers, and local communities.

Main duties of the job

You will be expected to work autonomously in multidisciplinary teams, working as a Clinical Lead/Advanced Occupational Therapist within mental health community services and will be flexible to work across clinical areas, dependent on skills, service needs and agreed collaborative working arrangements.

As part of this role you will be expected to:

  • Deliver a high quality clinical service to people and their families.
  • Providing leadership as an Occupational Therapy specialist within the community mental health services (East).
  • Provide leadership, advice and guidance to Occupational Therapy colleagues and other team members from across different professional groups.
  • Manage a complex caseload and responsible for clinical and caseload supervision of other team members.
  • Deliver specialist Advanced Occupational Therapy interventions, in accordance with an agreed care plan, to an identified group of people experiencing mental health related difficulties that are directly and significantly impacting on occupational functioning.
  • Deliver evidence based individual and group interventions in line with the service model and to the people accessing our services, and undertaking the role of lead clinician where occupational functioning and occupational performance is identified as an area of significant need.
