Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, person centred, Specialist Physiotherapist, with great leadership and interpersonal skills.You will be leading a high quality Physiotherapy service to adults with mental health difficulties who are current inpatient at the redwoods Hospital in Shrewsbury.You will lead a highly specialist physiotherapy service to adults with Complex mental health difficulties and comorbidities, undertaking clinical diagnoses, assessment and physiotherapeutic management and interventions.Deliver a high standard of care using a holistic evidence-based person centred approach on a daily basis. The role will be split equally between clinical practice and providing clinical leadership, teaching and supervision to members of the physiotherapy and multi-disciplinary members across all wards at the Redwoods Centre ranging from Acute care to Older adult acute and dementia.You will be an autonomous practitioner, holding a small mixed clinical caseload of those with mobility, postural management and respiratory needs. Working without direct supervision within the context of a multi-disciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
To lead a highly specialist physiotherapy service to adults with mental health difficulties and physical disabilities and occasionally to adults with complex developmental disorders who are unable to access mainstream services with reasonable adjustments. Undertaking clinical diagnoses, assessment and evidence based physiotherapeutic treatment programmes, management, and interventions. To deliver a high standard of care using a holistic evidence-based person centred approach on a daily basis. The role will be split between clinical practice and providing clinical leadership, teaching and supervision to members of the physiotherapy and multi-disciplinary members at Redwoods Hospital.To be an autonomous practitioner, holding a small mixed clinical caseload of those with mobility, postural management and respiratory needs. Working without direct supervision within the context of a multi-disciplinary team. To support less experienced staff and students and colleagues deliver the Trust contracted services.To provide expert advice in relation to Physiotherapy in adults with mental health difficulties ; signposting and providing guidance and information to health and social care professionals, clients, carers and relatives.
On occasion the post holder will be expected to support Business continuity plans with colleagues at Stafford hospital at times on an urgent needs basis/as necessary.
