Job summary

Due to expansion of the service an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the well-established Midlands Metabolic Bone Centre, which incorporates a Bone Densitometry Scanning (DXA) service, a Medical Metabolic Bone Clinic, Nurse Led Osteoporosis clinics; and the Fracture Liaison Service (FLS). The bone density scanning service performs over 5000 scans per year, using low dose X-rays to diagnose or assess the risk of osteoporosis, a health condition that weakens bones and makes them more likely to break. The service performs a full range of bone densitometry investigations for various specialities within the Trust and for GPs, is part of a fracture liaison service, and supports research studies. The Bone Densitometry Service is located at Bradwell Hospital and is equipped with 2 Hologic Horizon A bone densitometers.
