Job summary

The Speech and Language Therapy Service in Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent offer assessment and treatment to adult patients who have communication and / or swallowing difficulties in community locations such as the person's own home. We offer dysphagia, communication and voice assessment and intervention. We have strong leadership and an ethos of compassionate management.

We have an exciting role for a Band 6 SLT in based either in North Staffordshire or working remotely into an established team in specialist clinical areas of dysphagia.

The role is initially a fixed term for 12 months, but this is likely to extend or become substantive should all parties feel that this is agreeable.

What we'd ask of you

We are looking for an independently practicing clinician who is enthusiastic and highly motivated.

If you are local to the patients, we'd expect you to be happy to travel to see people in a location which suits them best. If you are applying to work remotely, we'd expect you to be happy to support with triage and to be able to help client's who are not used to telemedicine to access their appointments via phone support alongside the telemedicine functions.

We'd love you to be great at engaging with the people who use the service and their families.

You will need to have the following skills or experience:

Be a registered Speech and Language Therapist

Be an independently practicing dysphagia clinician

A willingness to undertake post-registration training relevant to the post

A willingness to attend Clinical Excellence Networks relevant to the post
