Job summary
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Podiatry Assistant to join our Community Podiatry Services Team at Midlands Partnership University Foundation NHS Trust.
You will be working alongside senior qualified podiatrists and independently to carry out treatments for patients including health promotion. You will be required to deliver high quality professional care within a variety of patient settings including; Health Centres, Clinics, Hospitals, Medical Practices, Residential Settings and Patients Homes.
You must hold excellent interpersonal and communication skills, initiative and team spirit, as well as be committed to patient care, assisting them in achieving their maximum potential.
The Trust offers excellent Continuing Professional Development opportunities and you will be encouraged to take part in various CPD activities including clinical support and in house training during team meetings.
The post is full time and will require you to be flexible and able to work in a variety of locations across the Trust's local geographical area, as the service requires.
Main duties of the job
As part of this role, you will be expected to support the service user by providing:
- Promoting independence/self-management and maintaining safety
- Increasing functional ability
- Improvement in health and wellbeing including mental health
- Interventions in disease/condition management
- Contribute to case management/ treatment care plans
- Palliative and end of life care
- Care and compassion and consider personal circumstances and preferences in order to implement and adjust programmes of care and intervention at the direction of the qualified Podiatrist responsible for care.
