Job summary

Our Community Nursing Team are looking for a highly skilled and enthusiastic Band 4 Registered Nursing Associate to join our Ambulatory Clinics in the Seisdon area to deliver high quality and exceptional care to patients using our service.

Utilising your breadth of knowledge and skills you will provide holistic and person centred care and support for people of all ages and in a variety of settings and will work independently under the leadership of registered nurses or other registered professionals providing nursing care and delivering all aspects of the nursing process as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Essentially for this role, you will possess excellent communication, analysis of information, planning and organisational skills.

You will need to be NMC registered and you will be required to work within the NMC Code of Practice and Professional guidelines.

Main duties of the job

As a Registered Nursing Associate, you will be responsible for delivering high quality clinical care undertaking a full range of routine care and treatment tasks for patients in our care as directed by the registered nurse within the Community Nursing Team.

Clinical aspects of the role may include:

  • Under the supervision and instruction of the registered nurse or health professional you may treat patients with healthcare needs including continence and catheter care, wound care and pack, compression bandaging, medication administration and venepuncture.
  • Monitor the condition and health needs of people within their care on a continual basis in partnership with patients/service users, families and carers and other health professionals.
  • Perform and record clinical observations including blood pressure, temperature, respirations and pulse, acting within Trust standards to respond to abnormal results, escalating as necessary.
  • Contribute to ongoing assessment recognising when it is necessary to refer to others for reassessment within the boundaries of confidentiality.
  • Adhere to legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines both local and national.
  • Regularly attend workplace and staff engagement meetings and contribute positively to discussions about the improvement of care.
