Job summary

Due to a promotion at a partner NHS Trust for our incumbent we are looking to appoint to the key leadership role of Associate Director of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing.

This role will play a pivotal part to ensure the implementation and delivery of the overarching Trust Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing strategy along with efficient and effective delivery of the organisation's day-to-day Business Intelligence & Data warehouse services and infrastructure.

The successful candidate will ensure the Trust meets its local, regional and national reporting requirements, and be accountable for providing business intelligence, data warehousing and information reporting services to Care Groups and corporate services

The selection process will consist of a Stakeholder Panel on the 20th March and a Panel Interview on the 21st of March 2024.

Main duties of the job

  • Carry out research on new products and support the delivery of new technology to ensure the Trust continues to meet the required standards and accelerates the innovative use of data in-line with our strategic ambitions to "Inform through the power of data".
  • Accountable for ensuring the Trust meets its data quality responsibilities under the DSP toolkit
  • The post holder will support the Trust's approach to enable operational performance, working in collaboration with transformation, care group MDs, operations, service leads and corporate services to contextualise and agree information reporting outputs on a monthly basis .
  • Act as the primary contact for data warehouse and integration support across MPFT, ensuring the continuous availability maintenance and smooth running of data warehousing and information reporting service.
  • Responsible for timely production of accurate, high-quality data and translate these into management information to inform and aid effective decision making at Board, Directors Management Group, Clinical Groups, service and individual level.
  • Manage multiple and often conflicting priorities e.g. multiple programmes of Information Reporting & Data Warehousing transformation to support service delivery change Ensure appropriate stakeholders are identified as part of project initiation and engagement levels from all relevant parties are met according to expectations which is crucial for successful project delivery

QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

Essential

  • Educated to Masters level in Computer Science or other Information Technology or equivalent experience as outlined below
  • Extensive technical experience and continuous learning in IT systems & Applications.
  • 3+ years equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level using and implementing data warehouse and information reporting technologies in an NHS environmen
  • Qualifications in ICT management, project management, technical certifications, IT security or equivalent experience

Desirable

  • Certified/accredited leader status in Virginia Mason Production System, Continuous Improvement or Toyota Lean
  • PRINCE2 practitioner
  • Understanding of ITIL practitioner best practice

EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Significant management experience at senior level in the NHS, other public healthcare related industry or equivalent private sectors
  • Thorough understanding of NHS information requirements (nationally and at provider Trust/service level)
  • Excellent understanding of data modelling, data marts, data lakes, data migration processes and technologies
  • Experience of designing, implementing and managing large databases/repositories using SQL Server, Visual Basic, access etc. to deliver analytics and reporting

Desirable

  • Experience in working with the RiO clinical information system
  • Experience in working with the following clinical systems (EMIS, TPP, Inform, OptoMize, SystemC CareFlow, Care Director, R4 Carestream/Sensei Cloud, CarePath Illy,IAPTus)
