In addition to the usual terms and conditions MPFT is offering an additional payment, equivalent to 20% of your starting salary, paid in two instalments, when you join our team.
We are looking for an experienced Applied Psychologist to work as part of our Health and Justice Services in Midlands Partnership University Foundation NHS Trust, in partnership with the Probation Service, to deliver OPD services for men and women with complex personality difficulties in the justice system.
You will be responsible for providing clinical leadership for the Leicestershire 'Options for Change' service. The Leicestershire 'Options for Change' service incorporates both a Core Offender Management (CORE-OM) service and a standard Intensive Intervention and Risk Management Service (IIRMS).
In the CORE-OM service, you will lead on case consultation and formulation, workforce development and joint casework to support to Probation Service staff.
In the IIRMS provision, you will lead a caring and compassionate team comprised of Probation and MPFT staff to work directly with a small number of men and women on Probation who have screened onto the OPD pathway, who are considered high-risk individuals when leaving prison, to support them to succeed in their transition to living in the community.
Main duties of the job
This role is one of several posts provided by the MPFT to work in partnership with Probation Services to provide OPD Pathway services across the Midlands. The post holder will be offered support, clinical supervision, and training opportunities within MPFT and by the national OPD Pathway team.
You will support Probation Service staff in the community to work with complex, high-risk people on probation with personality difficulties in a psychologically informed way, with the aim of building robust therapeutic relationships, increasing engagement, and reducing the risk of future harm to self and/or others.
You will need to liaise effectively with senior Probation staff who hold operational responsibility for this important area of Probation Service delivery.
You will provide case consultancy and formulation, training and offer joint working to Probation Service staff.
Working 37.5 hours a week, you will also be joining a highly motivated, established team that includes an Assistant Psychologist, Senior Support Worker and Probation staff who you will supervise, to work with a small number of people on Probation in the community.
