Join us in a team that will support your growth and development at MPFT.The Mental Health Treatment Requirement (MHTR) Team are part of MPFT's Health and Justice Service. The MHTR team provide psychological assessments and interventions to people with mental health difficulties who have come into contact with criminal justice services and whose offences may attract a community or suspended sentence order.The team aims to prevent short term custodial sentences and reduce reoffending by improving access to psychological interventions and addressing underlying mental health problems, thereby improving health and social outcomes for the individual and their family.As a Specialist Practitioner, you will be responsible for undertaking assessments and delivering interventions to service users who are referred into the MHTR team. You will also work closely with the Clinical Lead on the development of specific pathways.MPFT deliver services across England. We are experienced in working across a wide geographical area and there is no necessity to travel to headquarters, training and IT support is virtual.
Main duties of the job
You will:o Undertake specific elements of a specialist psychological assessment, formulation and treatment of people referred to the serviceo Deliver interventions in accordance with NICE guidance to a defined caseload of individuals sentenced to a Mental Health Treatment Requiremento Offer advice, training, supervision and consultation to colleagues on care packages and treatment planso Assist in the development of a responsive service and ensure the continued development of a person-centred, recovery focussed model of care

- oIt is a condition of employment that the post-holder is registered with the Health Professions Council (HCPC) and eligible for BPS registration as a Chartered Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, OR as a Psychological Therapist is registered with their core professional body - e.g. Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- oPost-graduate doctoral level training in clinical/counselling psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS, OR Post-Graduate accredited qualifications as a Psychological Therapist.
- oPost-graduate training and professional accreditation (at least applied for) in EMDR, plus knowledge of other psychological approaches, being accredited by the BPS, BABCP, EMDR Association UK&I, etc.
