Job summary
Job Purpose
To act as Deputy to the Medical Staffing Service Lead during period of absence.
To manage the Medical Staffing Team and ensure the agreed service standards are met.
Responsible for the line management of the Medical Staffing Team Leader, ensuring training, development reviews, objective setting and personal development plans are carried out as appropriate and that personal files are kept up to date. Addressing any sickness absence, disciplinary, grievance matters and supporting the recruitment and selection of staff within the team.
To represent the Trust at local or regional level
To represent the Trust at the West Midlands Collaborative for Agency Locum Medics
To provide advice and guidance regarding terms and conditions for Medical and Dental staff, ensuring legislative requirements are met.
Support the delivery of training to medical / dental staff and managers around the use of Allocate software for purposes of appraisal, revalidation and job planning, as well as Health Roster.
Support the international recruitment process and dedicated team members in the absence of the Medical Staffing Service Lead.
Main duties of the job
To be a lead specialist &provide expert advice to stakeholders on all medical & dental terms &conditions of service
Responsible for Annual Medical Appraisal processes for Medical &Dental staff
Monitor compliance rates for Medical Appraisal
Appraiser training compliance, allocation of appraisers, delivery of training Medical Appraisal to managers and medical staff
Responsible for the Annual Job Planning processes for Medical & Dental staff
Delivery of Job Planning training to managers &medical staff.
Monitor compliance rates for Medical Job Planning and provide data
Conduct annual job plan reconciliations against payroll data
Responsible for ensuring Medical Revalidations are submitted in accordance with GMC review dates.
Provide guidance around the Medical E-Rostering system software
Responsible for completion & submission to Payroll of new starter, change and termination forms
Assist the Medical Staffing Service Lead with planning & organising of the Clinical Excellence Awards programme for the Trust
To represent Medical Staffing at Trust meetings e.g.Local Negotiating Committee; MAC.
Oversight of the arrangements for junior doctor rotation, working arrangement and rotas. Participate in the Induction programme

- The post holder will be required to deputise for the Medical Staffing Service Lead and support with a wide range of tasks and cover colleagues as required.
- To be a lead specialist and provide expert advice to stakeholders on all medical and dental terms and conditions of service, practices and procedures.
