Job summary
In MPFT Children and Families Mental Health Function, we work with young people who have a wide range of needs in an inclusive way. Our model places our young people's needs at the heart of what we offer to ensure that they are getting the best care possible. The Intensive Support Team offers: support and intervention for young people with high risk and complex mental health needs in an intensive time bound way. We recognise the children or young person's home or community environment as being an important part of their recovery, working to sustain the right community support, avoiding admission to hospital wherever possible.
You will offer an extended service to ensure an appropriate assessment of mental health need for children and young people in mental health crisis and in need of appropriate intensive support ensuring the delivery of safe and effective practice as part of their wellbeing and recovery action plan.
We work from 9am to 10pm, Monday to Friday including bank holidays, and we will be starting weekends imminently.
Main duties of the job
You will participate in the delivery of the agreed aims and objectives of the service and identify factors which may inhibit these from being achieved. You will assist in the delivery of a high standard of professional care to service users referred to the team and will implement agreed systems for the monitoring of effectiveness of care. You will also participate in the education and management of junior staff.
You will need to have the following key skills and experience:
- Experience of working in a mental health setting
- Registered nurse, social worker or Allied Health Care Professional
- Have a genuine passion for working with people with mental health difficulties
- Be able to work well in a Team
- Car owner and driver
