Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Podiatrist with a special interest in children's podiatry to join the Paediatric Podiatry Team in the South Staffordshire area. Applications are invited from motivated BSc qualified & HCPC registered podiatrists who are keen to advance their clinical & professional skills within this area. This post is suitable for an experienced or newly qualified podiatrist who is looking for the opportunity to develop experience in this area. This 12 month fixed term post is part-time at 30 hours per week.

This post offers the chance to manage a mixed caseload of children & young people with developmental & musculoskeletal conditions, across the County.

The successful applicant will be supported by a dedicated preceptorship package to assist the successful applicant to develop their skills in the area of Children's Podiatry. The postholder will be part of the team providing assessment & intervention for children & young people aged 0-19 years.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be supported to work as an autonomous practitioner assessing, diagnosing, care planning, and reviewing children with a multitude of clinical conditions, predominantly biomechanics but also nail and skin conditions. Our advanced practitioners provide expert guidance, support and mentorship to newly qualified members of the team.

The post holder will be expected to use & develop their skills using a variety of approaches & treatment modalities, working closely with colleagues in other disciplines to provide a child-centered, holistic approach to care. Excellent interpersonal communication skills, & ability to work alone & as part of a team are required.

The service works closely with other allied health professionals and consultants to provide a child-centered, holistic approach to care. A commitment to patient care to assist patients to achieve their potential is essential.

The successful applicant must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be able to work on their own as well as part of a team. You will be encouraged to take part in various CPD activities including clinical support, and in-house training during team meetings.

The post holder should have the ability to travel around the district.
