Job summary
Options for Change + (Derbyshire) and Options for Change + (Leicestershire) are Intensive Interventions & Risk Management Services (IIRMS); part of the national Offender Personality Disorder (OPD) Pathway, where NHS and HMPPS staff work together to improve wellbeing and reduce risk of reoffending of people on Probation.
Options for Change work within a psychological framework to work directly with men and women on Probation who have screened onto the OPD Pathway, who are considered high-risk individuals when leaving prison, to support them to succeed in their transition to living in the community.
You will work with both the Derby and Leicester based teams to educate and support those needing specific Occupational Therapy interventions, individually or on a group basis.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for providing specialised Occupational Therapy interventions within the OPD Pathway services, and specifically within the Intensive Interventions & Risk Management Service (IIRMS), working within a psychological framework to aid the recovery of male and female offenders both within prisons and community settings.
Youwill be joining two caring, friendly and highly motivated teams that each have a Clinical Lead Psychologist, Senior Support Worker and Probation staff.
- You will work closely with the rest of the team as the Clinical Specialist OT in this community setting, with a small but complex team caseload.
- We can offer you a strong commitment to supervision and appraisals to support your CPD whilst you are in post.
- You will be part of a Trust-wide network of AHPs for support and skill development. In addition you would have access to the national OT network within OPD Pathway services.
