Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 dietitian to join our Specialist Adult Dietetic Service covering South Staffordshire. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a friendly team in a dynamic NHS community setting and would be suitable for a newly qualified dietitian (or awaiting registration) or someone who already has some experience of working as a Band 5 dietitian.
Our team deliver a dietetic service for a wide variety of patients including nutrition support, home enteral feeding, diabetes, mental health, general dietetics and those with complex weight management needs. The post holder will have regular clinics and deliver group work with patients/training for staff, as well as having a caseload of patients in their own homes and nursing homes.
The successful candidate will receive regular clinical supervision as well as opportunities for CPD and personal development, including trust preceptorship program. This post will be based in Cannock or Tamworth with an element of working from home, but the ability to travel independently between venues across Staffordshire and carry equipment is essential to the role.
Main duties of the job
This is a dynamic post that requires the post holder to work within a well established community team, working closely with other dietetic teams and other professionals/agencies in addressing a range of care/support issues across the spectrum of conditions, preventing unnecessary hospital admissions and improving the health and wellbeing of the population served.
The Specialist Adult Dietetic Team deliver services across the South of Staffordshire. This includes nutrition support, home enteral feeding, diabetes, general dietetics, mental health and those with complex weight management needs. This role offers a wide range of learning and development opportunities within a supportive team which includes training to allow easy transition from university to the NHS as required.

- To assess new service user referrals and care/support needs, using analysis of patients biochemistry, anthropometry, medical & dietary history and behaviour to plan specific dietary therapy interventions.

- To use professional knowledge, skills and experience when working in changing environments and across professional boundaries.
