The
Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust is offering an exciting opportunity for you to
join our Maternity service as a Patient Flow Coordinator.
This
is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in improving safety,
efficiency, and service user experience of the induction of labour process in
our hospitals.
You
will be part of a team providing 24/07 coverage of the service. You will
coordinate and oversee the induction of labour process, supporting service
users to make empowered choices about their care whilst also supporting
colleagues in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care, ensuring the
smooth and safe flow of service users through the service.
Main duties of the job
Key
responsibilities include:
Acting
as the primary point of contact for the coordination of induction of labour
Support
the planning and scheduling of inductions, liaising with maternity, obstetric
and ward teams to ensure timely care provision.
Provide
expert clinical support, advice and guidance to colleagues, service users and
their families.
Monitor
service activity, identifying capacity pressures and escalating
appropriately.
Contribute
to audit, quality improvement and service development initiatives.

PURPOSE/SUMMARY
The
post holder will be responsible for flow of patients into and out from the
maternity services. This will include
the daily management and booking of women requiring induction of labour and
oversight of elective caesarean section bookings as well as women accessing
the maternity services through the acute pathway. They will work with the
clinical teams to facilitate appropriate timely admission, transfer and
discharge of across the maternity pathways.
The
post holder will need to have demonstrable knowledge skills and experience in
maternity services to facilitate and prioritise patient flow across the
inpatient services. The post holder needs to work well in high pressured
situations and be confident to communicate and collaborate with all levels of
the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of safe quality care.
The
post holder will communicate the capacity and flow position to the senior
teams and escalate any issues that cannot be mitigated and need further input
to resolve.

- Registered Midwife
- Degree in Midwifery
Desirable
- Masters Degree or Working towards Masters level qualification.
